[EXCLUSIVE] Writing Movies Has Always Been My Dream - Ademola Olanike, Producer of 'The Game Expert'

Ademola Nafisat Olanike, the producer of a new Nollywood movie titled ‘The Game Expert’, in this exclusive interview with Biztellers, she shares her life, career and aspirations.

May We Know You?

I am Ademola Nafisat Olanike. I hail from Irra, Oyun LG of Kwara State. I am a graduate student of the Department of Mass Communication, The Federal Polytechnic, Offa.

Tell Us About Your Movie Project

‘The Game Expert’ is a movie I wrote in 2018 and I waited till I became financially buoyant before I could produce it.

The movie is about a young woman who is being deluded that marriage changes people to fit a role.

Writing Movies Has Always Been My Dream - Ademola Olanike, Producer of 'The Game Expert'

I feel one major mistake people make before getting married, which they have to live by the rest of their lives, is assuming that their would-be spouse will get better in his/her attitudinal dispensation.

Why Going Into Movie? At What Point Did You Decide To And Why?

I always knew I would be a script writer. Script writing has always been in me. Growing up as a child, I used to write stories at the back of my note books. I found immense joy in writing drama scripts in primary and secondary schools whenever there were occasions – mostly end of the year programmes – that called for it.

Are You Going To Make A Career Out Of It?

Yes. That has always been my dream.

What Inspired You To Do This Particular Project?

I wrote many scripts but I decided to produce this (The Game Expert) first because of its psychological proximity to everyone in the society, regardless of gender.

Challenges?

Hmmm….Let me say none for now, but I know there would in the nearest future.

Fulfilling Part?

I am so happy for achieving the dream since childhood.

What Are Your Prospects?

I’m looking forward to the future with my screenwriter title and a producer because the aim is to become a great film maker. I just started and it is not out of place to say I’m a green horn?

There are some people I would love to learn from and work with them but the future will tell. I just want to make use of the little opportunity I have now and make a great impact in the industry.

Don't Compare Me To Portable – Speed Darlington

Controversial Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi, has been released from Kuje Prison following a court directive.

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju disclosed this development on Tuesday, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “Speed Darlington is out of Kuje Prison.”

The singer’s release came after an Abuja court granted him bail. This decision followed intense public pressure on the Nigeria Police Force, which led to his arraignment.

Prior to his release, Speed Darlington had petitioned Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, over his prolonged detention. He called on the DIG to comply with a court order directing his release or formal arraignment.

Justice M.S. Liman had earlier issued an order on December 23, 2024, mandating the police to charge the singer within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.

Speed Darlington’s arrest stemmed from allegations he made against Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy. The singer accused Burna Boy of being involved in an immoral relationship with embattled U.S. rapper and music executive Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy.

The situation has sparked widespread discussions, with many Nigerians expressing relief at Speed Darlington’s freedom while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

Burna Boy Left Fans Hanging At Netherlands Concert

In early January 2025, Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy fulfilled a promise by gifting $30,000 to Bethel Okechukwu, a phone repairer from Alaba Market who had claimed to be related to socialite Cubana Chief Priest.

This act of generosity occurred amid an ongoing feud between Burna Boy and the Cubana Chief Priest.

Following the donation, Cubana Chief Priest clarified that Bethel Okechukwu is not his brother, stating, “I have only one biological big brother & two kid sisters. They ain’t doing so bad.” He emphasized that he is not obligated to support his siblings financially and urged the public to verify such claims.

As of now, there are no credible reports indicating that Burna Boy instructed Bethel Okechukwu to take any specific actions towards Cubana Chief Priest after receiving the $30,000. The narrative appears to be centered around Burna Boy’s charitable gesture and Cubana Chief Priest’s subsequent clarification regarding his familial relationships.
