Renowned American musician, Frankie Beverly, best known for his iconic soul and funk band Maze, has died at the age of 77.

The news was announced by his family on the official Instagram account of Frankie Beverly and Maze on Wednesday.

In a heartfelt statement, the family expressed their grief and requested privacy as they navigate this difficult time.

“Grieving the loss of a loved one is a deep and emotional experience… We ask for privacy and understanding, allowing us the space to grieve in our own way,” the statement read.

Frankie Beverly, born Howard Stanley Beverly, formed Maze in 1970 and went on to achieve immense success, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry. His legacy will be deeply missed by fans and fellow musicians alike.

Controversial singer, Portable has publicly accused fellow artist Davido of snubbing him following a costly cancellation.
