Folkland Property Development Company is making significant stride in “making homeownership a Reality”
In the complex landscape of Nigerian property development, where unauthorised constructions and government demolitions are distressingly common, Folkland Property Development Company, PDC, a construction arm of PWAN Group, stands out as a beacon of hope.
The company’s unique selling proposition lies in its commitment to helping aspiring homeowners make informed decisions about property acquisition and development, reducing the risk of government-sanctioned demolitions.
Folkland PDC’s comprehensive services extend to being a construction arm of PWAN real estate company, one of Nigeria’s top real estate companies.
Folkland PDC is involved in construction operations, property valuation, procurement of construction materials, architecture, urban planning, and many other tasks for the PWAN real estate company.
This array of operations ensures a smooth operation and running system for its parent company and fosters an excellent relationship between the company and its clients.
Folkland PDC’s approach to responsible estate development is rooted in meticulous planning and compliance with regulatory standards.
From 2014 to date, the company has prepared residential estate development plans for over 100 estates and completed several building construction projects across various states in Nigeria.
This level of comprehensive property development projects and planning indicates Folkland PDC’s commitment to creating well-structured, legally compliant residential areas while distinguishing itself by being ranked among the top 10 property development companies in Nigeria.
Bagging the 2021 AFRICAN BRANDS award for Business Creativity, Innovations, and Quality Service Delivery shows Folkland PDC’s commitment to compliance and technology is unwavering, the company’s use of advanced construction initiatives, millennium-age equipment for site operations, and standardised site operations mechanisms that embrace geospatial technologies, such as ArcGIS products, satellite imagery, and drones, demonstrates its dedication to accuracy and precision in surveying and pre-operational planning.
By leveraging these tools, Folkland PDC ensures that its developments align with existing urban structures and zoning regulations, thereby minimising the risk of running in violation of government regulations.
The company is structured on a departmental basis, ranging from administrative to engineering and construction, procurement and quantity surveying, operation and budget, and planning and design.
A team of professionals from these departments executes the overall operation of the company. Folkland PDC’s compressive operations and services extend beyond building construction.
The company offers a broad range of technical and professional services, including architectural, urban planning, land surveying, quantity surveying, and engineering.

Folkland PDC’s efforts are particularly significant in the context of Nigeria’s urban development challenges.
Rapid urbanisation, coupled with a lack of adequate urban planning in many areas, has led to the proliferation of informal settlements and unauthorised constructions.
Government demolition efforts to reclaim land or enforce zoning laws often target these developments.
By providing a structured and legally compliant pathway to homeownership, Folkland PDC is protecting individual investments and contributing to more sustainable urban growth in Nigeria.
The company’s approach aligns with broader efforts to formalise land ownership and improve urban planning nationwide.
Moreover, the experts at Folkland PDC underscore the company’s commitment to quality and innovation in property development.
The integration of advanced technologies and modern approaches to estate development represents a significant step forward in Nigeria’s real estate sector, setting a new standard for responsible development.
The impact of Folkland PDC’s work extends beyond individual homeowners; also, by creating well-planned, legally compliant residential estates, the company contributes to the overall improvement of Nigeria’s construction sector.
However, it’s important to note that while companies like Folkland PDC are making significant strides in promoting sustainable property development, challenges remain in Nigeria’s real estate sector.
Addressing issues such as land speculation, inadequate infrastructure, and bureaucratic hurdles in obtaining necessary permits continue to pose challenges for both developers and homebuyers.
Nevertheless, the approach taken by Folkland PDC represents a positive trend in Nigeria’s construction and property development.
By prioritising compliance, leveraging technology, and adopting comprehensive planning methodologies, the company is helping to create a more secure and sustainable path to homeownership for many Nigerians.
As Nigeria continues to grapple with the challenges of rapid urbanisation, companies like Folkland PDC play a vital role in bridging the gap between individual aspirations for homeownership and the government’s need for orderly urban development.
Their efforts protect individual investments and contribute to the broader goal of creating livable, sustainable cities across Nigeria

TCN Completes Relocation Of 8 Towers, Ends Power Rationing In Abuja
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the successful relocation of eight 132kV and 33kV transmission towers along the Kukwaba/Apo 132kV transmission line, bringing relief to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This development, completed three days past the scheduled deadline, has also restored full bulk power to the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation, enabling the resumption of normal power distribution in the area.
In a statement signed by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, the company explained that the relocation became necessary due to the Federal Capital Development Authority’s (FCDA) road dualization project along the Southern Expressway.

The relocation work began on January 6, 2025, and involved dismantling and reconstructing the affected towers, as well as restringing power cables to ensure uninterrupted power flow.
To facilitate this, a planned power outage was implemented from January 6 to January 20, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria is pleased to announce the restoration of full bulk power to its 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation, effective Thursday, January 23, 2025,” the statement read.
“This restoration follows the successful relocation of eight 132kV and 33kV towers along the Kukwaba/Apo 132kV line (Southern Expressway route), necessitated by the Federal Capital Development Agency’s road dualization project along the Apo axis.”
TCN thanked residents and electricity consumers for their patience during the period of power rationing, noting that Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) can now resume normal electricity supply to customers in the affected areas.

Davido Is Richer Than His Billionaire Father – Ibrahim Chatta Claims
Renowned Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has sparked conversation by claiming that award-winning singer Davido is richer and more influential than his billionaire father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke.
Chatta made this statement while addressing the importance of respecting individuals in positions of authority, regardless of their age. He argued that accomplishments, not age, determine who an elder is. Using historical references, Chatta cited Alexander the Great, who achieved incredible feats before his death at 33, as an example of youthful greatness.
“God purposely placed some certain people in some positions, but you guys are looking at their age. It’s not about the age; any younger person that possesses things that belong to elders, is an elder,” Chatta said.
The actor emphasized that Davido’s wealth and influence surpass those of his father, despite Dr. Adeleke’s established status as a billionaire. Chatta highlighted the global recognition and adoration Davido commands, describing the singer as someone who garners immense loyalty and admiration.
“I was just looking at the numbers of people surrounding Davido the day I sat with him, I was just seeing how people were ready to be killed just to get to him. He is an elder. Davido’s father is a billionaire that has been doing big things before the singer’s arrival. His father is rich but not as Davido. If his dad is passing by, you might not recognise him, but if Davido passes here, a stampede will happen.”
Chatta’s remarks have stirred reactions across social media, with many debating whether fame and influence should outweigh wealth in defining success.
