How Vinicius Influenced Bellingham’s Transfer To Madrid
Following scintillating performances for England at the last Fifa World Cup and German club, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid won the race for the signature of Jude Bellingham during the last summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old midfielder has proved what a sensational signing he can be by weighing-in with eight goals in as many competitive games for the Madrid giants.
The football world has been stirred with news that his move might have been owing to influence of Brazilian international, now club teammate, Vinicius Junior.
It was gathered that though Vini didn’t know Bellingham, he took it upon himself to engage the England international on the phone via text messages to sway his decision.
Trusted Italian football journalist, @ FabrizioRomano, echoed L’Équipe in this regard.
Romano tweeted thus: Vinicius: “I didn’t know Bellingham but I knew that other teams wanted him so I texted him…”.
“I did the same as I did with Camavinga: texting for months and telling Real is the best club in the world”.
“Juni Calafat knows that if I can help him, I will.”
Biztellers gathered that Vini, as the Brazilian is fondly called is helping Calafat to influence other major signings for Madrid, including Kylian Mbappe.
The Netherlands clinched their first Euro quarter-final since 2008 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Romania in the last-16 match on Tuesday.
Donyell Malen starred with a brace, supported by Cody Gakpo’s opener in the first half.
Despite squandering numerous chances, the Dutch sealed their win as Gakpo set up Malen for the second goal before Malen dazzled with a spectacular solo effort in stoppage time.
Their next challenge awaits against either Turkey or Austria in the quarter-finals.

Chelsea Football Club has sealed the £30 million signing of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City, marking their fourth major acquisition this summer alongside Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, and Marc Guiu.
Dewsbury-Hall played a crucial role in Leicester’s Championship-winning season, contributing 12 goals and 14 assists under former manager Enzo Maresca, who has also made the move to Stamford Bridge.

After 17 years with Leicester, Dewsbury-Hall bid an emotional farewell on Instagram, expressing gratitude and reflecting on his time with the Foxes.

The Euro 2024 last-16 clash between Germany and Denmark was temporarily suspended on Saturday evening after a violent storm hit Dortmund.
The match was halted in the 35th minute by English referee Michael Oliver, who directed the players off the pitch amid torrential rain, hailstones, high winds, thunder, and lightning.
The score was tied at 0-0 when play was stopped at approximately 9:35 pm local time (1935 GMT).
Stadium announcements informed spectators of the suspension, stating, “Due to adverse weather conditions, the game has been suspended. More information to follow.”
Fans in exposed seats, part of the 60,000-strong crowd, scrambled for cover as water poured from the stadium roof.
Dark rain clouds loomed over the BVB Stadion, adding to the dramatic scene.
Local police confirmed that fan zones in Dortmund were also closed due to the inclement weather.
A screen later announced that the match would resume following the weather-related delay.
