Is Alexx Ekubo Gay? Mixed Reactions Follows Actor's Love Story With Ex-Fiancee Fancy

Mixed reactions continue to surround the ongoing scandal between popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo and his ex-fiancée Fancy Acholonu.

Fancy called off their wedding a few months after their engagement last year, but the reason for her decision was not clearly communicated.

There are claims that Alex Ekubo and Fancy had no sexual intimacy for five years.

Many netizens speculated that Fancy discovered that Alex is gay, a rumor that has circulated for some time.

Recently, Fancy took to social media to apologize publicly to the actor for calling off their wedding, which caused a stir online.

Some argued that the apology was a plea to get back with Alex, while others speculated that they were already back together and the apology was a condition of their reconciliation.

Alex responded to the apology, saying, “I appreciate the apology. May God bless us all.” Fancy later explained that the actor threatened and manipulated her into making a public apology.

In the wake of Fancy’s claim that they were not sexually intimate for the five years they were together, celebrities such as Daddy Freeze, Uche Maduagwu, Nkechi Blessing, and Mr Jollof, as well as other social media users, have weighed in on the situation. Fancy stated that she couldn’t confirm or deny whether Alex is gay.

Actress Nkechi Blessing mocked the revelation, stating that it would be impossible for her to date someone for five years without getting sexual with them. Daddy Freeze commented, “Religious Beliefs really.” Uche Maduagwu said, “Finally, the truth is out, not all that glitter for Nollywood is Gold.

Fancy tried to cover your shame for years and had the courage to break up with you, but instead of being grateful to this good woman, you allegedly took her to repair your image. So many women have endured so much ridicule in their relationships just to protect their men, but never got appreciated.” Mr Jollof wrote “Fear Lagos.”

Other social media users had various reactions, with some expressing skepticism about the truth of the claim and others speculating about the reasons behind it.

Olubowale Beatrice said, “I don’t believe those celebrities. These people are worldly, and we’ve seen the way they live their lives even while acting. So I don’t think it is normal, there’s a reason behind it. Either Alex has it with someone else, or he’s into homosexual.”

Prince Idong said, “Based on his reason, yes, it’s possible for him not to have intimacy with Fancy.”

Suleiman Lawal commented, “He might be protecting his woman’s dignity because there are some men that once they have intimacy with a lady they will lose interest. So they mostly discipline themselves to sustain their cherished relationship.”

Bankole Moses stated, “That cannot be true because I don’t believe in such a relationship. Even the way I see that guy, he’s baddest with his acting in movies, I don’t believe the accusation against him.” Joseph Mercy said, “What I see in this issue is either Alex is into someone else or he’s into homosexuality.”

Yemi Alade Accuses Cool FM, Clout Africa of Blacklisting Her Music

Award-winning Nigerian singer and activist, Yemi Alade has accused Cool FM Nigeria and Clout Africa of blacklisting her music after she failed to perform at an event organized by the platforms in December 2023.

The singer, in a series of tweets on Thursday night, alleged that her music has been removed from the stations’ playlists for nearly a year, despite her efforts to resolve the misunderstanding.

Alade explained that she was invited by Cool FM to perform at their December event but couldn’t attend.

According to her, she apologized for her absence in January 2024 but faced a cold reception from the management.

She claims this eventually led to her entire music catalogue being banned from the station’s playlists.

“Mr Serge and Mr Joseph, this life is not hard like that. WE SEE YOU… I SEE YOU @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria. This world is a small village. My God will fight for me… Una dey form gatekeepers in 2024,” she tweeted, referring to Cool FM and Clout Africa executives Serge Noujaim and Joseph Adamu.

Alade expressed shock at what she described as a deliberate attempt to sabotage her career by refusing to play her songs. She accused the station of barring both her old and new music from the airwaves.

“Since December 2023. I personally reached out in January. You are still refusing to play my music and giving my team a hard time. You’re not gatekeepers, and you are not God, Mr Serge Noujaim and Mr Joseph Adamu,” she wrote.

She further criticized the lack of communication from the management regarding the issue.

“The common decency to reach out and clear out any misunderstanding borne out of sheer carelessness on your path for a whole year, and your next move is to place an embargo on my songs? Remove my whole catalogue,” she added.
