American rapper Kanye West has announced his retirement from professional music.

He expressed uncertainty about his future plans.

The ‘Ye’ artist shared this news during a recent conversation with Rich The Kid.

Rich The Kid shared the screenshot of their conversation via his Instagram story on Tuesday.

In the screenshot, YE wrote, “I am retiring from professional music. Not sure what else to do.”

In a bid to persuade him to shelve his plans, Rich The Kid wrote, “Retire? Why? How? The people need you. The music you, TY [Dollar $ign] and we have made was the biggest stamp in culture to this date in 2024.

“Drop Ye about mine & V2 and we do it all over again. The kids need you, big bro. Fashion maybe some time to chill but retiring ain’t it.” [Sic].

He didn’t share whether West accepted his advice or not.

Kanye West is one of hip-hop’s most prominent figures, known for his diverse musical styles.

He began his music career as a producer in Chicago after dropping out of college.

West gained recognition by co-producing Jay-Z’s 2001 album ‘The Blueprint’ and was subsequently signed as an in-house producer for Roc-A-Fella Records.

In 2004, West released his debut album, ‘The College Dropout,’ which received critical acclaim and produced the Billboard Hot 100 number-one single ‘Slow Jamz.’

He has since become the joint most-awarded hip-hop artist in Grammy history, alongside Jay-Z, with 24 golden gramophones.

Tragic Funfair Crush In Ibadan Claims Children’s Lives

The Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the reconstruction of Ijio-Idiko-Ile Road which is one of the roads in the Oke Ogun geo-political zone in the state. Makinde also disclosed that he had given the go-ahead for the renovation of Iseyin Township Hall. Makinde, made these known during a town hall meeting held at Iseyin Town Hall in Iseyin Local Government Area, on Thursday. In his speech, Makinde informed the audience that construction is still going on at the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso campus's College of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resources, Iseyin Campus. He declared that Oba Abdul Ganiy Adekunle Salau, the most recent Aseyin of Iseyin, would be honored by having the campus lecture hall bear his name.

Several children lost their lives, and many others were injured in a tragic incident at a funfair in Ibadan, a city in south-west Nigeria.

The event, which was advertised as free entry, attracted a massive crowd, resulting in a crush as attendees struggled to gain access.

Eyewitnesses reported that over 5,000 children gathered at the venue, located at the Islamic High School Basorun. The tragedy unfolded when the main organisers arrived to begin the event. While the exact sequence of events leading to the crush remains unclear, the situation escalated into chaos, leaving scores injured.
