Bright, a Nigerian man, has announced the postponement of his wedding scheduled for March next year.

He made this decision on Monday via X (formerly Twitter) in response to a recent interview given by veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike.

He wrote, “My wedding is March next year, but after watching this Emeka Ike interview for four times, I’m putting it on hold! That word “investing in someone who isn’t investing in you,” “Loving someone you don’t know if you’re being loved in return,” is enough for me.”

Recall that the actor, during a live interview on Rubbin Minds on Channels Tv shared details about how his ex-wife, Suzanne Emma, was responsible for causing him to lose all his properties and access to his children.

In 2017, a Lagos Island Customary Court dissolved the 14-year marriage between the actor and his wife due to continuous battery issues.

The actor said “I didn’t come on the internet to clarify the allegations against me because the same people that were bullying me on the internet were still there. They are gonna say, ‘Don’t mind him. He is still missing her. Move on’.

“My secondary school, St. Nicholas College, Magodo, was shut down. Over N480 million investment that years was shut down. And all I heard was constant battery. I was like, ‘I didn’t beat this lady. What’s going on? Babe, what’s going on? They said I beat you, do I?

“And she (my -wife) said, ‘No. But you are a star, you know, they can always manipulate things and all that.’ So, I was gullible until I discovered that she was actually the one behind all this whole thing.

“Some ladies are too desperate for marriage legally. And she actually told me one time that I am not the marriage type. And I didn’t understand it. So, the young men need to know that there are plenty ladies that are not the marriage type lately,” he added.

The actor mentioned that he supported his ex-wife’s higher education but was unaware that she never truly loved him.

Prior to his release, Speed Darlington had petitioned Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, over his prolonged detention. He called on the DIG to comply with a court order directing his release or formal arraignment.

Justice M.S. Liman had earlier issued an order on December 23, 2024, mandating the police to charge the singer within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.

Speed Darlington’s arrest stemmed from allegations he made against Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy. The singer accused Burna Boy of being involved in an immoral relationship with embattled U.S. rapper and music executive Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy.

The situation has sparked widespread discussions, with many Nigerians expressing relief at Speed Darlington’s freedom while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

Following the donation, Cubana Chief Priest clarified that Bethel Okechukwu is not his brother, stating, “I have only one biological big brother & two kid sisters. They ain’t doing so bad.” He emphasized that he is not obligated to support his siblings financially and urged the public to verify such claims.

As of now, there are no credible reports indicating that Burna Boy instructed Bethel Okechukwu to take any specific actions towards Cubana Chief Priest after receiving the $30,000.
