Mike Ejeagha Makes History With Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 Songs

94-year-old Igbo Folk Music Legend, Gentleman Mike Ejeagha has made history as the oldest artiste to enter the Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 Songs.

This was revealed by Igbo History & Facts on micro-blogging site, X on Sunday.

It wrote, “His song, Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche was released in July 1983.

“It went viral after Brain Jotter used an excerpt from the song for a dance challenge ‘Gwo gwo gwom gwo’.

“His Album, Akuko N’egwu Original Vol. 1 has debuted on the Spotify Nigeria Top 100 Albums, 41 years after its release.

“Due to his trademark of telling long stories in his folk music, you would be told “Akụkọ Mike Ejeagha” to a long story.

“His full name is Mike Ejeagharibe, popularly known as Mike Ejeagha. The renowned Igbo folklorist hails from Imezi-Owa in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu state.”

Cab Driver Threatens Legal Action After Adunni Ade Accuses Him of Package Theft

Francis Njoku, an Indrive cab driver accused of stealing a package, has threatened to sue actress Adunni Ade.

The dispute arose after the driver allegedly refused to deliver the actress’s package following the completion of their trip.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Adunni called out the ride-hailing service, claiming the driver drove off with her package and ignored her calls.

“@indrive.ng I have contacted you for hours but no response. One of your drivers has stolen my package. He ended the trip before getting to me and not picking up calls.”

Her post triggered condemnation with many users calling out the company.

In a follow up post, Adunni noted that Njoku delivered her package after the company locked his profile.

She also shared the screenshots of her conversations with Njoku and her fashion designer, who sent the package out.

In the screenshots shared by the actress, Njoku had tackled her for allegedly smearing his name and threatened to take the matter to court.

“You have made nonsense of my image and I have contacted my legal team and we will see you in court. You are not the person that requested the ride. Many human rights lawyers and activists have called me and I won’t let it go that way. You must render an unreserved apology and ask Instablog to pull the post down.”

Adunni Ade reacting to the threat,said “One thing about me is I don’t lie nor cheat my fellow beings. When we speak of change, let it start with you. In my whole adult life of ordering and delivering or using services of logistic companies, I have never encountered anyone as rude, ill-mannered, arrogant, uncivilized and entitled as Frances Njoku.”

Wizkid Sets Record As Nigerian Artist With Most RIAA Certifications

Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, Wizkid, whose real name is Balogun Ayodeji, has set a new record as the Nigerian artist with the most RIAA certifications.

The Grammy-winning singer recently received a gold certification in the United States for his hit song “Soco,” which has sold 500,000 units.

With this latest achievement, Wizkid now boasts eight RIAA certifications, which include notable tracks like “Essence” (4x platinum), “Come Closer” (platinum), and “One Dance” (11x platinum). “Soco,” featuring Ceeza Milli, Spotless, and Terri, was a major success that helped spotlight these emerging talents, with Wizkid leading the way.

The song is also certified silver in the UK and gold in both France and Canada.

‘I Relocated From The UK To Join BBNaija’ – Ben

Newly evicted Big Brother Naija housemate, Benjamin Olufemi, popularly known as Ben, has shared the reason behind his move from the United Kingdom to Nigeria.

Ben, who was evicted from the season 9 edition of the BBNaija, No Loose Guard show on Sunday, disclosed that his relocation was primarily to take part.

Speaking in an interview with some journalists on Wednesday, the nightlife promoter stated that he aimed to utilize the platform to promote his business.

“First and foremost, I’m not doing a 9 to 5 job. Tjay reached out to me and said let us pair together. So if I was doing a 9 to 5 or under a student’s visa, I would not have come.

“But I’m a permanent resident in the UK, so nightlife is on the weekend. I came for Big Brother to push my nightlife 100%. To sell myself. I tell people that I organise parties, and people would come to my parties.

“People now even use the tagline number, Action Ben, no party. But the most difficult part for me was I had to pay all my bills before coming.”
