Rema Shuts Down O2 Arena, London
Renowned Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, widely recognized as Rema captivated a packed audience at London’s 02 Arena during his “Ravage Uprising” show.
With all 20,000 tickets sold, the event attracted Nigerian celebrities and fans, turning it into a lively celebration of Afrobeats, showcasing the genre’s dynamic energy, diverse elements, and global appeal.
Taking the stage at the iconic 02 Arena, Rema joined the ranks of acclaimed Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake who have previously sold out the venue.
Opening his performance with the latest hit, “DND,” Rema made a grand entrance astride a stationary horse, adorned in a mask and stylish black ensemble.
Transitioning seamlessly, Rema delivered a melodic rendition of “Iron Man,” accompanied by a captivating spectacle of Indian dance choreographers flanking him.
The “Calm Down” artist continued to enthrall the audience with a lineup of his hits, including “Dirty,” “Ginger Me,” “Addicted,” “Why,” “Dimension,” “Soundgasm,” “Fame,” “HOV,” “Trouble Maker,” “Lady,” “Don’t Leave,” “Dumebi,” “Bounce,” and “Charm,” showcasing the diversity of his expanding repertoire.
A standout moment of the evening occurred when Rema brought on stage his fellow Mavin Records signees, Ayra Starr, Crayon, and Magixx, for a collaborative performance of “Won Da Mo,” adding an extra layer of excitement to the already electrifying night.
Bringing the night to a crescendo, Rema concluded with a rendition of his smash hit “Calm Down,” captivating an online audience of over 38,000 who tuned in to witness the spectacle via the YouTube live stream.
Prior to his performance, Rema took a moment to express his appreciation to fellow artist Burna Boy, recognizing the support and inspiration he received from the accomplished musician.
He tweeted, “Before I get on stage, I want to say a big thank you to @burnaboy for bringing me on stage 2 years ago.
“Today it’s my turn to conquer that same stage and I wish you were here to share this moment with me. Regardless, I’m grateful for the motivation,”he added.
Recall that a pivotal moment in Rema’s journey occurred two years ago when Burna Boy invited him to share the stage during his O2 Arena concert.
This significant experience undoubtedly fueled Rema’s aspirations to perform at the same venue, marking a meaningful chapter in his artistic aspirations.

Controversial Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi, has been released from Kuje Prison following a court directive.
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju disclosed this development on Tuesday, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “Speed Darlington is out of Kuje Prison.”
The singer’s release came after an Abuja court granted him bail. This decision followed intense public pressure on the Nigeria Police Force, which led to his arraignment.

Prior to his release, Speed Darlington had petitioned Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, over his prolonged detention. He called on the DIG to comply with a court order directing his release or formal arraignment.
Justice M.S. Liman had earlier issued an order on December 23, 2024, mandating the police to charge the singer within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
Speed Darlington’s arrest stemmed from allegations he made against Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy. The singer accused Burna Boy of being involved in an immoral relationship with embattled U.S. rapper and music executive Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy.
The situation has sparked widespread discussions, with many Nigerians expressing relief at Speed Darlington’s freedom while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

In early January 2025, Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy fulfilled a promise by gifting $30,000 to Bethel Okechukwu, a phone repairer from Alaba Market who had claimed to be related to socialite Cubana Chief Priest.
This act of generosity occurred amid an ongoing feud between Burna Boy and the Cubana Chief Priest.

Following the donation, Cubana Chief Priest clarified that Bethel Okechukwu is not his brother, stating, “I have only one biological big brother & two kid sisters. They ain’t doing so bad.” He emphasized that he is not obligated to support his siblings financially and urged the public to verify such claims.
As of now, there are no credible reports indicating that Burna Boy instructed Bethel Okechukwu to take any specific actions towards Cubana Chief Priest after receiving the $30,000. The narrative appears to be centered around Burna Boy’s charitable gesture and Cubana Chief Priest’s subsequent clarification regarding his familial relationships.
