Portable Steals The Show At Celestial Church's Praise Night In Lagos

Popular Nigerian street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has stirred fresh controversy by accusing music heavyweights, Wizkid and Davido, of using their ongoing feud to stay relevant in the industry.

According to Portable, both artists’ music careers are declining, and they’ve resorted to creating social media drama to maintain their presence in the spotlight.

In a post shared via his Instagram story, the “Zazu” crooner criticized the two stars, claiming that their music no longer sells as it used to. He urged them to stop leveraging their feud for attention and promotion, instead encouraging them to “shine on their own” rather than bringing each other down.

Portable’s statement read: “Don’t use your brother to shine, shine yourself. Una songs no dey market again, na fight una dey use do promotion. Let’s forget fake promotions, I get hit songs. Portable is bigger than them. Who is big is big.”

The controversial singer also distanced himself from taking sides in the ongoing clash between Wizkid and Davido. He added, “Me, I no dey for Davido. Me, I no dey for Wizkid. I dey for myself. That’s why I dey for those who dey for me.”

This comes amidst a renewed online spat between Wizkid and Davido, with Wizkid taking several jabs at Davido, including insulting the DMW boss’s family. Despite the taunts, Davido has refrained from responding publicly to the ongoing drama.

The Nigerian music scene has witnessed several high-profile feuds, but Portable’s comments highlight the impact of such controversies on artists’ reputations and promotional strategies. With the spotlight now on Portable’s remarks, fans are keen to see how the two superstars will respond, if at all, to his claims.

As tensions continue to rise on social media, many are questioning whether these public disputes are mere publicity stunts or genuine rivalries within the Nigerian music industry.
