Wizkid Reignites Beef With Davido, Calls Him “Frogido”
Award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats star, Wizkid, has once again sparked his long-standing rivalry with fellow music icon, Davido.
The tension between the two superstars hit new heights after Wizkid dropped a series of controversial tweets on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), targeting Davido while promoting his upcoming single.
The feud was reignited when Wizkid, in one of his tweets, responded to an X user who questioned whether dissing Davido was a publicity stunt to boost his music sales. Wizkid quickly shut down the accusation, saying, “I don’t beef with wack niggas,” and went on to claim that Davido lacks talent.
In a further jab, Wizkid coined a new derogatory nickname for Davido, calling him “Frogido.” He also boasted that his dominance in the Afrobeats scene would continue, adding, “Bingos got nothing on Starboy General till Infinity.”

Wizkid’s tweet read: “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop. Pussy boys. I don’t beef with wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent. Frigodo.”
This latest altercation marks yet another chapter in the ongoing beef between the two Nigerian music giants. Their rivalry, which dates back several years, has seen moments of peace but has often escalated into public spats, especially on social media.
In recent months, the feud took a personal turn, with both artists taking shots at each other’s personal lives. Davido, in a previous exchange, accused Wizkid of domestic abuse towards his girlfriend and baby mama, Jada Pollock.
In retaliation, Wizkid ridiculed Davido’s infidelity, insinuating that the “FEM” singer had been caught begging one of his side chicks for sex.
Wizkid didn’t stop there. He also mocked Davido’s recent foray into cryptocurrency after the latter launched a meme coin. Wizkid took to social media to throw shade, advising his followers to “work smart so as not to hustle like a fool,” a clear reference to Davido’s crypto venture.
As the rivalry between Wizkid and Davido continues to make headlines, fans of both artists are left divided, fueling the ongoing debate over who truly reigns as the king of Afrobeats.
Controversial Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi, has been released from Kuje Prison following a court directive.
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju disclosed this development on Tuesday, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “Speed Darlington is out of Kuje Prison.”
The singer’s release came after an Abuja court granted him bail. This decision followed intense public pressure on the Nigeria Police Force, which led to his arraignment.

Prior to his release, Speed Darlington had petitioned Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, over his prolonged detention. He called on the DIG to comply with a court order directing his release or formal arraignment.
Justice M.S. Liman had earlier issued an order on December 23, 2024, mandating the police to charge the singer within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
Speed Darlington’s arrest stemmed from allegations he made against Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy. The singer accused Burna Boy of being involved in an immoral relationship with embattled U.S. rapper and music executive Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy.
The situation has sparked widespread discussions, with many Nigerians expressing relief at Speed Darlington’s freedom while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

In early January 2025, Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy fulfilled a promise by gifting $30,000 to Bethel Okechukwu, a phone repairer from Alaba Market who had claimed to be related to socialite Cubana Chief Priest.
This act of generosity occurred amid an ongoing feud between Burna Boy and the Cubana Chief Priest.

Following the donation, Cubana Chief Priest clarified that Bethel Okechukwu is not his brother, stating, “I have only one biological big brother & two kid sisters. They ain’t doing so bad.” He emphasized that he is not obligated to support his siblings financially and urged the public to verify such claims.
As of now, there are no credible reports indicating that Burna Boy instructed Bethel Okechukwu to take any specific actions towards Cubana Chief Priest after receiving the $30,000. The narrative appears to be centered around Burna Boy’s charitable gesture and Cubana Chief Priest’s subsequent clarification regarding his familial relationships.
