How My 12-Year Rift With Wizkid Ended – Davido

Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has once again ignited controversy by taking direct shots at his longtime rival, Davido, in a series of heated social media posts.

The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday to mock Davido’s self-proclaimed title of “001,” claiming that the only place Davido holds that title is in his own home.

Wizkid’s post read: “The only time u’re 001 is when u’re in your house. U’re not 001 of nothing but Instagram followers!” The Afrobeats star didn’t stop there, taking aim at Davido’s entourage, accusing him of using his wealth to manipulate those around him.

He claimed that Davido surrounds himself with financially dependent individuals, stating: “Naija is a place the rich weaponize poverty so u carry all these broke boys in real life and get them visas so they worship u.”

Wizkid also appeared to take a swipe at Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, who is often referred to as the “Dancing Governor” for his frequent dance displays on social media. Wizkid wrote: “When u see people wey dem papa and family train, u go know! U don’t see my uncle dancing online,” a thinly veiled reference to Adeleke’s public persona.

The social media outburst continued as Wizkid responded to claims about a recent Puma endorsement deal. Rumors suggested that Puma paid Davido more than Wizkid, to which Wizkid fired back, saying: “No! Puma is a big brand, but the budget they had for Africa wasn’t for me! Was cool for your client tho!”

He went on to clarify that he had turned down the offer because the brand couldn’t meet his financial demands: “I turned down Puma cos they could no longer afford to pay me cos I wanted more! Don’t need dat! Way bigger than every artiste u just mentioned!”

The feud also extended to Nelson Epega, CEO of Chatter, a social audio-visual platform, who criticized Wizkid’s behavior. Epega described Wizkid as an “uncontrollable psychopath” and praised Davido’s popularity.

Wizkid retaliated, claiming Epega couldn’t afford him: “First off, you can’t afford me fool! You are doing business with the right person you can afford!”

Wizkid went on to further taunt Davido’s musical abilities, saying: “You’re not as fly as me, can’t sing or make music like me, u don’t make more money than me.” He also took jabs at Davido’s inner circle, labeling his entourage as “broke” and calling his lawyer a “dumb ass” for constantly being around him.

This latest exchange has once again reignited the long-standing rivalry between two of Afrobeats’ biggest stars, stirring widespread reactions on social media.

Fans of both artists have taken sides, fueling debates and discussions across multiple platforms. With tensions running high, many are wondering whether the feud will escalate further or eventually fizzle out.

As the battle for supremacy in the Afrobeats world continues, the rivalry between Wizkid and Davido remains a hot topic in Nigerian entertainment, captivating fans and drawing attention to the dynamic and often dramatic relationships within the industry.

‘Return The Tithe’, Charly Boy Calls Out Pastor Adeboye After Apology

Veteran Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has reacted to Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s recent apology regarding his stance on tithing.

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), had previously claimed that those who do not pay tithes would not make it to heaven, a statement he recently retracted.

During a sermon, Pastor Adeboye apologised, saying, “I’m apologizing for saying, ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven.’ I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is, ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.’”

However, Charly Boy, known for his outspoken nature, expressed dissatisfaction with Adeboye’s apology. In a strongly worded post, Charly Boy stated that the apology was meaningless unless Adeboye returned the tithes collected from followers based on the original claim.

Charly Boy wrote, “Your apology don’t mean shit unless you promise to return the tithe money them give you for mumu people wey wan bribe dia way to heaven.”

He went on to criticise certain church practices and the perceived hypocrisy of some church leaders, saying, “I truly believe that a lot of the fakest people are found in churches… Stop giving ur CONGREGATION ridiculous Lamba’s. There is nothing worse than a fault-finding finger-pointing Pastor who is as fake as the blings of a wanna-be artist.”

Charly Boy has long been known for his controversial takes on societal and religious issues, and his latest comments have sparked reactions across social media.
