Omotola detailed her experience leading up to the surgery, which included multiple trips to the emergency room.

“I had been getting my films ready and after the day’s edit, I proceeded for the Academy Voting Member’s viewing of Gladiator 2 but all through the viewing, I could not sit up,” she shared.

“I had been rushed to the ER twice that week already for back and chest pains that would come intensely and leave the next day! The doctors were checking for my now Hbp and intense acid reflux!”

Despite initial treatments, the actress’ condition worsened after the movie viewing, leading her to another emergency visit.

“On the second admission, the doctor gave all the drips, blood work, and sent me home to manage. Luckily it left,” Omotola recalled. However, the following morning, the symptoms escalated. “I threw up all night till there was nothing to throw up anymore,” she said, before being rushed to the ER for a third time.

Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors conducted a CT scan, ultrasound, and MRI. The diagnosis was clear: Omotola’s gallbladder was severely dilated, and immediate surgery was required.

“The doctor said I have to go in immediately for surgery to remove your gallbladder! It was so dilated, the doctors wondered how I was not in more pain,” she explained.

Reflecting on her harrowing ordeal, Omotola expressed deep gratitude for her recovery. “So the fight for my life began, and today I am returning to give all the glory to God,” she said, adding, “Not only for the gift of life, but the gift of good health. The gift of a complete body or a sane mind to even dream of a better day!”

The actress’s post has since garnered an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities, who have praised her strength and resilience in the face of such a challenging experience.

A French band has brought back memories for fans of Nigerian music duo P-Square after performing their 2014 hit song “Taste the Money (Testimony)” to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his official visit to France.

The performance, which took place yesterday, has since gone viral, rekindling conversations about the group’s impact on the global music scene.

P-Square, comprised of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, were one of Africa’s most celebrated acts before their split in 2017. The breakup, reportedly due to financial disagreements, marked the end of an era, with “Taste the Money” standing out as one of their last major collaborations. Fans have often referred to the song as a symbol of their peak success and musical synergy.

Fan Reactions

The rendition by the French band was met with mixed emotions from fans. While many applauded the international recognition of P-Square’s music, others couldn’t help but lament the continued estrangement between the Okoye brothers.

“Since the brothers have refused to reconcile, bands will now do their jobs,” one fan commented, reflecting the frustration many feel over the duo’s unresolved differences.

Another fan described the performance as a bittersweet reminder of P-Square’s legacy, saying, “This French masterpiece shows the power of their music, even in their absence.”

Despite their split, P-Square’s influence remains undeniable, with hits like “Personally”, “No One Like You”, and “Do Me” continuing to dominate playlists across the continent. The group’s global appeal is further underscored by moments like this, where international acts pay homage to their work.

As the debate over a potential reunion persists, fans are left with performances like the French band’s as a reminder of what once was—and what could still be.
