Iyabo Ojo Politicised Mohbad’s Passing As Protest Against Naira Marley – Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti Accuses Peter Obi Of Wrecking Anambra State's Economy

Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has charged that Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo politicised Nigerian artist Mohbad’s passing in an effort to undermine his former record label owner, Naira Marley.

He made the accusations in response to Ojo’s assertions that he is “confusing” the young people by calling the controversial self-described social media activist VeryDarkMan “a necessity,”

According to Kuti, Ojo’s activism was directed towards Naira Marley rather than obtaining justice for the late musician.

Speaking in a video message shared via his Instagram account, the Afrobeat singer said: “I have watched your video, Iyabo [Ojo] but throughout the video you’re just talking about what VeryDarkMan did yet you said I was the one you were calling out.

“But there is one thing that I hold onto, you said I’m a confusionist confusing the youths. [Yoruba] This life is wicked. I’ve been on your podcast before because I bear you no grudge. I bear you no ill will. I stand personal beef. But when it’s political… It was you guys who politicised the death of Mohbad.

“You politicised his death. And I don’t believe you guys politicised his death because you were looking for justice because now what’s the findings? Did you accept the government’s findings? I read somewhere that the government said Mohbad died of substance abuse. If you guys believe the government findings, what are we doing? Justice for what?

“I believe personally, it was a movement against Naira Marley at the end of the day. I don’t see anything other than that. You said we are fighting against bullying in the Nigerian society and 70-80 per cent of celebrities are cultists.

“These are gangs of bullies. Bullies bullying everybody yet everyone is their friend. The gangs constantly bully people and celebrities are their members.

“Everybody is a friend of these members, nobody called them out for associating with gangs even after what happened to Mohbad. What’s happening? Is there any movement against confraternities in Nigeria? Where is the movement for justice for Mohbad now?”

A video has surfaced online, capturing the moment Nigerian singer Davido allegedly slapped one of his mmember so staff simply identified as ‘iamSegxy’ during his wedding ceremony.

The incident, which took place just a week after Davido’s highly publicised wedding to Chioma, has ignited a flurry of reactions across social media platforms.

The footage shows the man bowing to Davido immediately after the alleged slap. Notably, Chioma, alongside media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and singer B-Red, were present during the incident but appeared unfazed.

The video has garnered significant attention, with many expressing shock at the occurrence.

However, the purported victim (iamSegxy) has come forward to refute the allegations.

Taking to social media, he clarified the situation, stating, “As regards the fake video circulating on the internet, you are all commenting on something you don’t know. My boss didn’t slap me and has never slapped any of his staff. He was only cautioning me to allow the boy. The boy in question appeared from nowhere and I tried to stop him. Besides, my boss is my blood and family, I understand him so well without a word from his mouth. 30BG for life. Happy married life, boss.”

This clarification has added a new dimension to the controversy, with many supporters rallying behind Davido. Despite this, the incident continues to trend, sparking debates on the dynamics between celebrities and their staff.

No Regrets Ending My Marriage, Says Israel DMW's Ex-Wife, Sheila

Sheila, the estranged wife of singer Davido’s logistics manager, Israel DMW, has stated she has no regrets about calling it quits on her marriage to DMW.

She expressed her position in a recent podcast conversation with her friend Ginika.

On Wednesday, a tape of the interview went viral on social media.

Sheila did, however, acknowledge that her ex-husband “damaged” her by including her mother and friend in their divorcing story.

“I did not regret any decision I have taken because it was all bound to happen. I believe strongly that God is in charge of all that happens in our lives whether positive or negative, there’s a master planner behind everything,” she said.

“But I’ve had my moments of sadness. I feel so bad about the whole thing especially the way my friend and my mum were dragged into it [our divorce]. That has hurt me. But generally, I have zero regrets.”

Recall that Israel and Sheila tied the knot on October 20, 2022, at a traditional ceremony that was held in Benin City.

However, just eight months after their opulent wedding, the couple called it quits due to accusations of adultery and domestic abuse made by both sides.
