Omokri delved into the intricate dynamics of relationships in Southern Nigeria, suggesting that the prevalent “Industrial Money Obtainer” culture among some women has contributed to the challenges faced by Nigerian men in their pursuit of meaningful relationships.
He lamented the monetisation of romance, highlighting how expressions of love are often interpreted as financial obligations, leading to suffocating dynamics within relationships.
The author called for urgent cultural reorientation, particularly among women in Southern Nigeria, to address the commercialisation of romance and foster healthier relationship.
He emphasised the need to move away from transactional attitudes towards love and advocated for genuine emotional connections devoid of financial expectations.
Omokri also touched upon the impact of visa restrictions on international marriages, suggesting that Nigerian men’s exposure to women from countries with different cultural norms and values plays a significant role in their decisions to marry abroad.
He noted that Nigerian men are often perceived as desirable partners by women from countries such as South Africa and Kenya, further influencing their choices in marriage.

Nigerian music icon, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has made a public declaration about his personal growth and commitment to fidelity, stating that he’s done with cheating.
In a recent interview on the Breakfast Club podcast, the Afrobeats star spoke candidly about his past and how personal experiences have reshaped his outlook on relationships.
“I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala. I don’t want any wahala. I have five kids with four women,” Davido admitted, shedding light on his journey toward a more disciplined and peaceful lifestyle.
