Bolu Bamidele: More revelation as fleeing wife commits suicide

….. Wife who burnt Cairo-based lover to death commits suicide

Residents of Koka, a community in Obokun Local Government Area, Osun State and the family of the two lovers, Bolu Bamidele and Ifeoluwa Akanji has been put in a moaning state as the latter reportedly committed suicide.

Report had it that the Cairo-based businessman, Bolu and his lover has been together for nine years.

Acrimony over an alleged act of adultery by one of the two lovers led to their deaths, with Ifeoluwa killing herself after setting Bolu on fire.

According to research by Biztellers, the couple had been dating since 2014, when Bolu was enrolled in the Federal Polytechnic Offa in Kwara State to study mass communication.

They held onto the bond up until their official introduction on October 4, 2021.

Ifeoluwa’s friend, who begged to remain unnamed, said: “Ifeoluwa was a quiet girl who hardly talked or related with people. She loved his boyfriend, fondly called Teebam, so dearly. Bolu was the one who sponsored Ife in school and even built a house for her parents before settling up a fashion designing shop for his heartthrob.

“After the introduction, Ifeoluwa was pregnant twice but had miscarriages, which caused both partners to be worried. Bolu was living in Cairo (Egypt) but came home from time to time and spent two weeks with his partner in Osogbo, Osun State capital, before returning to his base.”

On July 7, 2022, Bolu reportedly left Cairo in order to celebrate Ifeoluwa’s birthday and to eventually go to Nigeria so that she could spend more time with her.

According to a family source who spoke to our correspondent , Bolu went out with his friends on July 17, 2022, and came home drunk about 4 o’clock.

It was said that one of his buddies had dropped him off at his residence close to the Osogbo Campus of Osun State University.

The source added: “Around 6 pm on that day, Ifeoluwa called one of Bolu’s parents, reporting that he was drunk again in spite of several warnings from them. The parent apologised to her to exercise patience and promised to come to their house the following day.”

According to reports, Ifeoluwa snatched Bolu’s phone and read some of his WhatsApp chats when he was fast asleep before discovering that Bolu had impregnated someone else.

Another source said: “She called one of Bolu’s friends, threatening to deal with Bolu over the discovery while the friend urged her to exercise patience.”

Ifeoluwa would later post on her WhatsApp status a message that reads: “I’ve always been a calm girl and I’ve never done this in my life but Teebam has pushed me to the edge.

“At this point, y’all will weep over myself and him before daybreak. I’m promising y’all that!!!”

The source added: “When the friends viewed the status, they rushed down to the house but met Ifeoluwa along the route around Oomuu stream almost naked as she wore only bra and pant, walking barefooted. She told them that they should rush home and pick the corpse of their friend if they would still find him.”

Recall that one the rescuers, Gabriel Adejare, while speaking to Biztellers said it took them almost one hour before they could rescue Bolu from the burning house.

He said: “It took us 40 minutes to rescue him from the fire after breaking four burglaries to have access to the house. We rushed him to Osogbo Central Hospital but were referred to Osun State University Teaching Hospital. Bolu was later referred to University College Hospital, Ibadan for treatment.”

A friend of Bolu identified simply as Sola said: “Bolu begged for doctors to save his life and also ensure that Ifeoluwa did not abscond. He reiterated his love for her on the hospital bed till the point of death. Bolu died on Tuesday as a result of severe burn.”

Bolu’s older brother, Bode told our correspondent that his brother had been interred on Wednesday at the St. Benedict Catholic Cathedral in Popo, Osogbo.

Since his brother was laid to rest, he claimed, the Ifeoluwa family had moved out of their home at Illias Junction in the Kobo neighborhood of Osogbo.

“Ifeoluwa has thrown us into darkness with the death of Bolu. He relocated to Nigeria with the thought that when they are closer to each other, pregnancy would be possible,” Bode said.

Since Ifeoluwa ran away, the police have been searching for her and have listed her as wanted as of Thursday.

However, it was heard that Ife’s Father Mr. Akanji made arrangements with some attorneys on Thursday night to visit his daughter in Ilesha, where she was hiding.

It was learnt that when they were about to leave in the automobile after picking Ifeoluwa up from her hiding place in Ilesha, she coughed and admitted to taking poison before they arrived.

She was taken to a hospital in Ilesha and then transferred to Our Lady of Fatima Jalayemi Hospital for care, but eventually passed away around 7 o’clock.

Three suicide notes were discovered inside her waist purse. One of the suicide notes reads: “To all my friends that genuinely loved me and gave listening ears. I love you guys and am sending you this to appreciate your love. Please help ensure Teebam’s legacy lives on, including mine.

“Remember Ifetife. I did not kill your friend. You all know I genuinely loved him and I still do, even to the point of my death. Do the findings everywhere, Omo baba and Forty especially. I am counting on you guys. Boluwatife will appreciate this so much.”

Confirming Ifeoluwa’s death, Bolu’s elder brother, Mr Bode said: “We have confirmed that Ifeoluwa is dead. She committed suicide and left notes. The notes are with her family lawyer.

“The father and the lawyer brought her corpse to this hospital yesterday. We were called this morning to confirm her corpse.

“She is dead but we are still going to see the police over the matter.”

Obi's opponents bad market

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has alleged that his twin brother Peter Okoye is behind the fraud case filed against their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Recall that Jude was arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Lagos on a seven-count charge of money laundering.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused him of laundering ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59 through his company, Northside Music Ltd.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, requested that he be remanded in EFCC custody, but the prosecution, led by Larry Aso, opposed the request.

The court ruled that he be held at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility pending the hearing of his bail application.

On Friday, Paul Okoye addressed journalists outside the court, declaring his support for Jude and alleging that Peter was responsible for his legal troubles.

“I’m supporting him because I know the truth,” Paul said in a viral video.

“The truth is Peter is the one putting Jude through these things. He is putting him in prison, and I’m here to bring him out. The same crime that they accused him of doing, then Peter is guilty, Paul is also guilty too.”

The allegations have reignited tensions within the Okoye family, which has experienced publicized disputes since the breakup of the P-Square music group in 2017.

The brothers reconciled in 2021, but the latest development suggests that unresolved issues may still exist.

As of press time, Peter Okoye has yet to respond to his brother’s claims.
